Alexandra, Johannesburg | 30 June 2026 — A protest in Alexandra continued moving through the area on Tuesday, passing near Pan Africa Mall on two occasions as demonstrators made their way along First Avenue toward the Plaza and through surrounding back roads.

According to reports from the scene, members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) are escorting the march while closely monitoring the movement to ensure public safety and maintain order.

Pan Africa Mall management has confirmed that there have been no threats directed at the shopping centre. As a precautionary measure, some mall gates are being temporarily closed depending on the direction of the protest, while normal operations continue where it is safe to do so.

Authorities say the situation remains calm, with no reports of violence, damage to property, or injuries at this stage. Traffic and pedestrian movement in parts of Alexandra may experience temporary disruptions as the march proceeds.

Police remain on high alert and continue to monitor the demonstration to prevent any escalation while ensuring the safety of residents, shoppers, businesses, and protesters.

Gazatainment News will continue to monitor developments and provide updates as more information becomes available.
