“I’m Not Disabled, I’m Different”: The Remarkable Story of a Limpopo Author Inspiring Others
Limpopo, South Africa — A remarkable young man from Limpopo is challenging perceptions about disability and proving that determination can overcome barriers many people consider impossible.
Known for his positive outlook and determination, the young author was born without arms. However, he does not see himself as disabled. His powerful personal motto is: “I’m not disabled, but I’m different.”
Despite having no arms, he has taught himself to perform everyday tasks using his feet. He can cook, drive a car, operate a cellphone and accomplish many other activities independently.
One of the things that continues to amaze people is his ability to use WhatsApp. He types messages using his foot — and does so remarkably fast. People who communicate with him regularly on WhatsApp know that he can type and respond almost as naturally and quickly as someone typing with their hands.
His determination extends beyond everyday life. He is also a book author and aspiring motivational speaker, hoping to use his experiences to encourage other people not to allow circumstances to define their potential.
A particularly touching moment came when someone sent him a WhatsApp message asking, “Hurini?” Within just five seconds, he responded:
“Ndi hone hurini ngeo.”
The speed of his response left the sender amazed and served as another reminder of just how much he has taught himself to do.
For him, the absence of arms is not the absence of ability. He believes there is very little that can stop him from achieving what he sets his mind to.
Now, as he works toward writing and publishing his book, his biggest request is not sympathy — it is support from the public.
His story is a powerful reminder that sometimes the greatest limitations are not physical ones, but the limitations we place on ourselves.
“I’m not disabled, but I’m different.” — a simple statement that has become a powerful message of resilience, independence and hope.
