By Terries Twananani Hlongwani (Tresh SA)
The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has heard evidence involving messages allegedly linked to Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema.
During proceedings, the commission was told that Mo Sayed allegedly forwarded messages to Major-General Feroz Khan that were said to have originated from Malema. The messages presented as part of the evidence reportedly included a poster connected to Operation Dudula, as well as a message containing the words: “Must be arrested tonight.”
The commission is currently examining the background, meaning and significance of the messages, including the circumstances under which they were shared and the identities of those involved.
The evidence forms part of a broader inquiry into matters before the commission, and no final findings or conclusions have been made regarding the allegations.
Further developments are expected as the hearings continue.
