SANDF Deployed to Clermont Following Overnight Looting
The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) has been deployed to KwaDabeka in Clermont, west of Durban, following overnight looting incidents that targeted several businesses. The deployment is aimed at supporting law enforcement and restoring stability in the affected area.
At least two supermarkets and a dental practice were broken into during the incidents, with goods and equipment stolen. Business owners have begun assessing the extent of the damage as authorities continue their investigations.
Security has been increased across the area to prevent further criminal activity, while police investigate the circumstances surrounding the looting. No arrests have been officially confirmed, and authorities have urged residents to remain calm as efforts continue to restore order.
