Families urged to help identify five women at Germiston mortuary
Families searching for missing loved ones are being urged to visit the Germiston mortuary to assist authorities in identifying the remains of five women who are still unidentified.
The appeal follows the positive identification of 28-year-old Gracious Nkomo, whose body was among those discovered in the Kempton Park area on September 10.
Nkomo’s identification has provided some answers to her family, while authorities continue efforts to establish the identities of the remaining women.
Nine women have been killed in Ekurhuleni since July, raising concerns over a series of deaths in the area.
Authorities are appealing to families who may have missing relatives to come forward and assist with the identification process at the Germiston mortuary.
The identification of the remaining victims is expected to assist investigators as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
