BREAKING: Cat Matlala’s Sister Linked to Sundowns Star Grant Kekana
JOHANNESBURG — Claudette Masethe, the sister of controversial businessman Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala, told the court during her bail application that she receives a monthly allowance of R60,000 from her boyfriend.
Masethe, 31, is alleged to be in an on-and-off relationship with Mamelodi Sundowns defender Grant Kekana, according to claims surrounding the court proceedings. Kekana is the son of ANC NEC member and Deputy Minister Pinky Kekana.
Masethe reportedly lives in a luxury property in Hyde Park and is studying law on a part-time basis. She is also a former director of Matlala’s company, Medicare24 Tshwane District.
During her bail application, Masethe told the court that the R60,000 monthly allowance from her boyfriend contributes towards supporting herself and her seven-year-old child.
Masethe appeared in court alongside Matlala’s wife, Tsakane, and Given Makofane in connection with a case involving an allegedly fraudulent R95,000-a-month lease for a property in Waterkloof.
The three accused were each granted bail of R20,000, while the State opposed bail for Matlala.
The matter has been postponed to 29 October to allow for further investigations.
The alleged relationship between Masethe and Kekana has not been established as a fact in court, and neither has been convicted of wrongdoing in connection with the allegations described above.
