BREAKING NEWS: Man Accused of Killing Mother Following Argument Over Supper
KWA NONGOMA, KWAZULU-NATAL – Police are searching for a 40-year-old man who is accused of killing his mother following an argument over supper in Kwa Nongoma.
According to allegations, the man arrived home in the evening and questioned his mother after discovering that no meal had been prepared. She reportedly explained that there had been no electricity in the area throughout the day, making it difficult to cook.
The argument allegedly escalated when the man insisted that food should have been prepared using firewood. During the confrontation, he is accused of attacking his mother with an axe, inflicting fatal injuries.
It is further alleged that after the attack, the suspect set the victim’s body alight before fleeing the scene.
Community members who reportedly witnessed parts of the incident attempted to pursue the suspect, but he managed to escape.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect and investigations into the incident are ongoing. Authorities have urged anyone with information that could assist in locating the suspect to report it to the nearest police station.
