BREAKING NEWS | Driver Killed, 11 Injured in Bus Crash Near Musina
Musina, Limpopo – A bus transporting repatriated foreign nationals overturned on the N1 near Musina, Limpopo, on Wednesday, leaving the driver dead and 11 passengers injured.
The crash occurred approximately four kilometres south of the Beitbridge Border Post. According to preliminary information from the Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety, the bus was transporting undocumented foreign nationals from KwaZulu-Natal to a repatriation processing centre near Beitbridge when the accident happened.
Authorities believe the driver may have lost control of the vehicle. Driver fatigue is among the factors being investigated, although the exact cause of the crash has not yet been established.
The driver was declared dead at the scene. Emergency medical personnel treated the injured passengers before transporting them to Musina Hospital for further medical care.
Traffic continues to flow along the N1, but motorists have been advised to expect temporary delays as law enforcement officials and accident investigators continue their work at the scene.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway, and authorities are expected to provide further updates as more information becomes available.
