🚨 BREAKING: SACP CONSIDERS CALL FOR RAMAPHOSA’S REMOVAL
The South African Communist Party (SACP) is considering whether to formally call for President Cyril Ramaphosa’s removal from office, putting the issue firmly on the party’s highest decision-making agenda.
SACP general secretary Solly Mapaila says the party is “extremely disappointed” with Ramaphosa’s leadership. The matter has already been discussed by the party’s central committee, with the politburo now tasked with finalising the position before it returns to the central committee.
Mapaila also repeated his earlier call for Ramaphosa’s impeachment, citing concerns over Operation Vulindlela and what he describes as the transfer of state functions and assets towards private capital.
The development comes amid renewed tensions between the SACP and ANC, ahead of the November local government elections.
The SACP has chosen to contest the elections independently after years of efforts to restructure the tripartite alliance. However, Mapaila says the party has not abandoned the Alliance, arguing that the ANC, SACP, Cosatu and Sanco entered it as independent organisations and equals.
🔴 No final decision on Ramaphosa’s removal has been announced yet.
